Warranty Information
COOL FURNISHINGS Limited goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA). Full details of your consumer rights may be found at www.consumerprotection.govt.nz.
- Unless otherwise specified in writing by COOL FURNISHINGS LTD (e.g. in a Sales Order), COOL FURNISHINGS Limited warrants that:
- a. The frame used in each COOL FURNISHINGS LTD lounge is guaranteed against failure due to a manufacturing defect for a period of 2 years.
- b. The electronic and motion components for all recliners, sofas and sofa beds (LED LIGHTS, SPEAKERS, USB CHARGER, USB PORT, excluding batteries and transformers) are guaranteed against failure due to a manufacturing defect for a period of 1 year from date of delivery.
- c. All components of your product other than above (including leather, fabric, lacquered and other timber finishes, chrome and metal, glass and artificial marble, travertine and macstone) are guaranteed against failure due to a manufacturing defect for a period of 2 years from date of delivery.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to the CGA, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), under any statute or otherwise, for or in respect of:
- a. Normal wear and tear. In this regard, please note the following may occur as a result of natural and normal usage:
- i. Leathers and fabrics will fade and crease; Leather lounge suites are mostly made of simulation leather unless Genuine leather is mentioned in sales docket or correspondence. This is on seating areas & contact areas. All other areas including armrests and back side of sofa are made of PU or Artificial PVC. All coffee tables, side tables & beds are made of PU Leather.
- ii. Foam and fillings will soften and form the shape of the user over time.
- iii. Depending on the covering and the degree of use, the covering materials, cushion fillings and suspension may need to be replaced periodically at the purchaser’s expense.
- iv. Scars, marks and differing pore density and colour are natural characteristics of leather.
- v. The leather and fabric products are upholstered by hand; therefore, the size and weight may vary up to 10% from sample products or quoted specifications.
- b. Damage caused by spills (e.g., acid, solvents, dyes, ink, paint, or bodily fluids).
- c. Damage from improper cleaning, negligence, chemical treatments, exposure to sun, heat, bright light or other acts/omissions.
- d. Cost of transporting the product to/from the place of repair or replacement.
- a. Normal wear and tear. In this regard, please note the following may occur as a result of natural and normal usage:
- The warranty against defects is not transferable and only applies to the original purchaser as specified in the Sales Order. It covers products used for normal domestic purposes and excludes those used commercially.

How to claim a warranty against defects:
- If you encounter any fault within 2 years of warranty, notify COOL FURNISHINGS LTD by email at coolfurnishing90@gmail.com.
- Provide a copy of the original Sales Order or tax invoice.
- The purchaser bears all expenses involved in making the claim, including freight, house calls, labor, etc., at standard COOL FURNISHINGS LTD rates.
CARING FOR YOUR FURNITURE
General Care
Ensure furniture is used as intended. Do not sit on arms of lounges, stand/sit on table tops, or pivot on chair backs.
Sunlight
Direct sunlight will fade and dry out leather/fabrics and may warp timber components.
Fabric Upholstered Furniture
Cut loose threads—do not pull. Vacuum regularly. Avoid harsh brushing and sharp objects. Do not let pets on fabric furniture.
Lacquered & Timber Finishes
Natural timber shows markings/variations. Use protective covers for hot objects. Always use coasters. Clean with non-abrasive damp cloth.
Chrome & Metal Finishes
Dust regularly to prevent rust. Use chrome polish if needed. Avoid sharp objects to prevent scratching.
Glass
Use glass cleaner and soft cloth. Avoid cleaner on frosted or surrounding areas. Use mats under hot items. Never lift glass tops from ends of tables.
Exceptions To Guarantees
Consumer guarantees do not apply if you:
- Received what you asked for but changed your mind, found it cheaper, or decided not to use it.
- Misused the product, causing the problem.
- Knew of or were made aware of the faults before purchase.
