Warranty Information
COOL FURNISHINGS Limited products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA). For full details of your rights, please visit: www.consumerprotection.govt.nz
Manufacturer’s Warranty
Unless otherwise stated in writing (e.g. in your Sales Order), COOL FURNISHINGS Limited provides the following warranty against manufacturing defects:
Frame Warranty
All lounge suite frames are covered against manufacturing defects for 2 years from the date of delivery.
Electronic & Motion Components
All recliner, sofa, and sofa bed components including LED lights, speakers, USB chargers, and USB ports (excluding batteries and transformers) are covered for 1 year from the date of delivery.
All other Components
All other product components (including leather, fabric, lacquered and timber finishes,
chrome, metal, glass, artificial marble, travertine, and macstone) are warranted against
manufacturing defects for 2 years from the date of delivery.
Warranty Exclusions (Subject to CGA)
To the maximum extent permitted by law, this warranty does not cover:
Normal Wear & Tear
The following are considered natural and expected over time:
- Leather and fabric may fade, crease, or stretch
- Foam and cushioning may soften and mold to the user
- Materials and suspension may require replacement with use
- Natural leather may show marks, scars, and colour variations
- Handcrafted furniture may vary up to 10% in size or weight
Material Composition Note:
- Lounge suites are primarily made of simulation leather, unless genuine leather is specified
- Genuine leather applies to seating/contact areas only
- Other areas are made of PU or artificial PVC
- Coffee tables, side tables, and beds are made of PU leather
Accidental or External Damage
- Spills (acid, dyes, ink, paint, bodily fluids, etc.)
- Improper cleaning or chemical treatments
- Exposure to sunlight, heat, or strong lighting
- Negligence or misuse
Transport & Handling
- Transport costs for repairs or replacements are not covered
- Goods collected from our warehouse are transported at the customer’s risk
- Responsibility transfers once goods leave our premises
Warehouse Collection Policy
- Customers will be notified when goods arrive and are ready for collection
- Items must be collected within 14 days
- Storage fees of $150 per week apply after this period
Warranty Conditions
- Warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser
- Applies to domestic use only (not commercial use)
How to Make a Warranty Claim
If you experience a fault within the warranty period:

You must:
- Provide your Sales Order or tax invoice
- Cover all associated costs including freight, labour, and service charges at standard rates
Caring for Your Furniture
General Use
- Use furniture as intended
- Do not sit on arms or stand on tables
- Avoid tilting chairs
Sunlight
- Avoid prolonged exposure to prevent fading and warping
Fabric Care
- Vacuum regularly
- Cut loose threads (do not pull)
- Avoid sharp objects and pets
Timber & Lacquer
- Use coasters and heat protection
- Clean with a soft damp cloth
Chrome & Metal
- Dust regularly
- Use chrome polish if needed
Glass
- Clean with glass cleaner and soft cloth
- Use mats for hot items
- Do not lift glass from edges
Exceptions to Consumer Guarantees
Consumer guarantees do not apply if:
- You changed your mind or no longer want the product
- You found the product cheaper elsewhere
- The issue was caused by misuse
- You were aware of faults before purchase
